Chemir Purchases PRA Labs,
Expands Coatings Testing
Chemir Analytical Services, a St. Louis-based chemical analysis testing laboratory, has purchased PRA Laboratories, Inc. located in Ypsilanti, MI. Established in 1943, PRA Laboratories provides research and development support to the paint and coatings industry, including product formulation, synthesis and problem solving.
“This acquisition complements Chemir’s offerings to the coating industry,” said Shri Thanedar, CEO of Chemir Analytical Services. “Chemir’s focus on non-routine problem solving matches PRA Laboratories’ emphasis on formulating new products, reverse engineering competitive products and failure analysis. We are pleased to expand our analytical services to the coatings industry and also offer litigation support and expert witness services.”
